Dear Board of Trustees,

I both agree and disagree with Bring Your Own Devices (BYOD) at Nelson Central School. This is when children bring I PADS and other devices to  school to help them learn.

I disagree because you have to charge them up all the time. This will cost the school  a lot of money in power.  I also disagree because it won’t be fair for the kids who don’t have a device. A fact is that me and my brother if we had  i pads it would cost  $1600 in  total for two I PADS.

I agree that we should have BYOD  because it makes  learning  fun and easy. It makes learning fast. You can store more maths, reading and writing on the device .
For example we can retell stories using the puppet pals app. Some games on Room 5s I PAD make good training for basic facts.

In conclusion, I’m not sure that we should have BYOD at Nelson Central school . The  schools power bill will go sky high but they are good for learning.

Kind regards
Harry

  1. Harry i really like your case for & against BYOD, & agree that rather than spending more money on power NCS could use this for books, music equipment, sports gear or class trips.
You have presented your case well. Keep up the excellent work
